Strange facing West Indies – Walsh
Courtney Walsh admits that it feels strange to go up against the West Indies, but he is hoping his team – Bangladesh – can rebound from their heavy defeat in the first Test to even the series.
“I have been with them (Bangladesh) since 2016. It is the first time I am touring the Caribbean with them. It is a strange feeling coming up against West Indies as this is my first time against West Indies. But as a professional, I have to deal with it. You want to win with the team that you are with,” Walsh explained at his team training session at Sabina Park yesterday.
“It (Bangladesh) is home away from home so to speak. It has been a tremendous experience and I am enjoying it and trying to improve Bangladesh cricket.”

According to Walsh, his team has put the defeat by an innings and 219 runs inside three days at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua behind them.

“I have spoken to the guys and sharing my experience with West Indies cricket. We have had multiple discussions. They are a good bunch of guys. As a former Test player, they are also sharing with me in open discussions from time to time and that is tremendous,” Walsh said.
Walsh added: “I am looking forward to the next Test here and if we can play as well as we know we can, we can put on a very good show. We are up for the challenge. I hope the guys can bounce back from the last Test match.
“The spirit is good. They guys are upbeat. It is a different game, differrent venue. I have talked to them about Sabina Park and what to expect. Obviously, the wicket is greener, so we will go for it.”
The second and final Test of the of the iPay series bowls off on Thursday at Sabina Park.
