Reggae singer Jae Prynse is today counting his blessings following an incident on Monday evening which almost cost him his life. The incident unfolded at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Sydenham Villas, Spanish Town. THE STAR understands that the artiste went to the Old Capital to review some footage for an upcoming project. While outside the videographer’s residence ironing out details for the project, the two were attacked by two armed men. The artiste and the videographer were robbed of several items of value, including three smartphones, an Apple MacBook computer and the keys to the entertainer’s Yamaha motorcycle. At least one other man is believed to be involved in the incident as a man was seen speeding away in a silver Nissan AD Wagon alongside the two on the motorcycle. Recounting the ordeal, Jae Prynse said he is very disheartened by the bold actions of the men, considering Spanish Town and its environs are currently under a state of public emergency. Underscoring that the presence of the law enforcement officers in the area is not a deterrent to criminals, the entertainer said he is thankful he is alive and that no one was seriously harmed. He used the opportunity to encourage young people to work honestly for what they want, and sought to assure them that there is no future in a life of crime. The incident has been reported to the Spanish Town Police Station, who are currently conducting their investigations. Jae Prynse is best known for the hit singles Try Harder and Hard Work.
