Popular dancehall selector Hotta Ball is now a married man. The deejay tied the knot last Saturday with the ‘love of his life’, 39-year-old Petagay Livingston.

The newly-weds shared stories of how they met and how the love between them grew with each year they stuck together.

Petagay, who goes by the pet name Shauna, said she initially gave the selector her number to get rid of him.

“He was across the road at St Joseph’s Hospital and I was on my way to pick up my daughter, and he jumped off the wall and start throw lyrics my way. I gave him my number to get rid of him,” she said. “I wasn’t too interested but he would text me every night at 2 to 3 a.m. Mi used to wonder wah kinda security guard a text me phone dem hours ya.”

She said Hotta Ball intensified his pursuit of her and eventually, after a few cancelled dates, she relented.

“From that day, he has never left my side,” she shared.

Hotta Ball could not contain his joy as he spoke about his wife.

“I am so happy right now, I got married to the love of my life. She has transformed my life, she is my rock, my anchor, the love of my life,” he said.

The wedding ceremony took place at the Maranatha Gospel Hall on Deanery Road in Kingston while the reception was held at the Triple Century nightclub in New Kingston. The couple have a 10-year-old son, Shavon.

The newly-weds are currently enjoying their honeymoon. They said they are focused on their marriage and strengthening their family.

They are well aware that marriage takes work, and are willing to do whatever it takes to make the union last. – S.G.
