WANTED TEEN SHOT BY GUNMEN Now under police guard

A14-year-old boy, who, along with his twin brother, were being sought by the Cambridge police in St James for armed robbery and other crimes, was shot and injured by gunmen last Saturday and is now in hospital under police guard.

According to police reports, at approximately 6 p.m. last Saturday, the wanted teen was standing among a group of persons outside a shop in Bickersteth when a heated argument started.

During the argument, handguns were brandished and there was an exchange of gunfire. The teenager suffered a bullet wound to the leg.

The Cambridge police were summoned to the scene and on their arrival, the wounded teenager was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was admitted under police guard.

“We were searching for him and his twin brother in connection with a robbery they committed in May,” a police officer told the WESTERN STAR. “So, we now have one and we will be continuing our search for the other.”

According to the police, in May, the twins, who are both on suspension from school because of severe disciplinary issues, held up a bus operator at gunpoint in Bickersteth and stole an undetermined sum of cash. They have been on the run since that incident.

Despite their young age, the twins are said to be much-feared in and around Cambridge and Bickersteth, where they are seen as ‘hot heads’, who are prone to extreme violence.
