Cops seek witnesses

Detectives assigned to the Centre for the Investigat­ion of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two witnesses who are vital to a case that is currently before the court.

They are Malica Washington and Sheryl Stewart, who are both of Above Rocks, St Catherine. They are scheduled to appear before the St Andrew Parish Court on Monday, April 28, 2019.

Anyone knowing the whereabout­s of Malica Washington and Sheryl Stewart is being asked to contact the CISOCA at (876) 926-4079, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station. (JLP) candidate for the St Catherine South Eastern constituen­cy.

The party’s leader, Andrew Holness, yesterday presented Miller to the constituen­cy at a meeting at the Southborou­gh Primary School.

Miller was confirmed as the candidate for the constituen­cy in June. The St Catherine South Eastern consistenc­y is currently represente­d by the People’s National Party’s Colin Fagan. through the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporatio­n (KSAMC) Youth Summer Employment Programme (YSEP).

The programme, which starts officially on Monday, August 13, will initially last for four weeks, with a possible two-week extension based on performanc­e and completion of tasks.

The youth will be engaged in a critical aspect of nation-building, as the work will redound to the benefit of Jamaica as a whole. They will be paid a weekly stipend of $8,500. The participan­ts, who are between the ages of 17 to 24, will be involved in data collection and verificati­on activities in: trade licence survey; street licence verificati­on; vulnerabil­ity assessment in the area of disaster; assessment notices; billboards and signs survey; and barbers and hairdresse­rs survey.
