- ANDRÉ WILLIAMS STAR Writer

Fast-rising artiste Demetri, aka the ‘Dancehall Kid’, has released a new music video for the Jimmy2tymz-featured single, titled ‘Slow Whine’.

Slow Whine, produced by Small Boxx Records and IkonicGroup, also features recording artiste Spice and New York-based comedian-turnedrapper Fatboy.

The video, which captures a teasing and sensual energy, was shot at various locations across Kingston and St Andrew, such as Barbican, Long Mountain and The University of West Indies (Mona campus).

The LGC Projects and Wilmot Ent deejay recently embarked on his European Heatwave Tour, along with My Cup hitmaker Richie Loop, where he is now gearing up to perform in countries like France, Switzerland, Estonia and Finland.

During this summer, Demetri, who grew up in Central Village, St Catherine, has generated heavy traction with his official release, that was done on Birchill’s Lemonade rhythm.

The track is enjoying heavy rotation on the airwaves and is also a staple on the playlist of many prominent disc jockeys, locally and internationally.

The song is also enjoying heavy rotation at some of Jamaica’s popular street events, such as Magnum Wednesday, YardClothes Wednesday, Lit Sundayz and Special Sundayz.

“Demetri has been receiving positive reviews for his versatility and sound as an artiste. He is fairly new to the music industry, however, in only just a few months of promotion, already his musical prowess and influence has garnered fans in Jamaica and overseas. Trust me, the fans can’t get enough of this artiste. Demetri is a diamond in the dust,” his manager, Carlington Wilmot, told THE WEEKEND STAR.

Demetri is also working on several new projects, which are slated to be released later this year.
