New Miss Jamaica World to be crowned on Saturday
On Saturday, Solange Sinclair, Miss Jamaica World 2017, will crown her successor in a grand coronation spectacular being planned for the Grand Ballroom of The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
Crown of Beauty Jamaica Ltd is seeking to crown the best Jamaican young woman to represent the country at the prestigious Miss World 2018 pageant, scheduled for Sanya, China, in December.
According to National Director Weston Haughton: “The ladies are busy rehearsing for the grand coronation, which promises to be an entertaining event with some memorable moments.”
One amazing young woman will wear the brand new Miss Jamaica World 2018 crown which was sponsored by two Jamaicans residing in Atlanta, Dr Lisa Price-Wallace and philanthropist Norma Jean Martin, director of A Fashion Affair Inc.
The 16 finalists competing for the new crown are: Tamaya Henry (Miss Absolute New York), Rushell Malcolm (Miss Puerto Seco Beach), Lawnda Jackson (Miss Cetamol Menstrual), Chante Pitter (Miss Neutrogena), Kadijah Robinson (Miss Fontana Pharmacy), Jana Hinds (Miss Mushroom Swimwear), Catherine Harris (Miss ORS Olive Oil), Kwela Cole (Miss Intranet), Julia Lindo (Miss Charles Chocolates), Jameillia Baimbridge (Miss Circles Logistics), Issia Thelwell (Miss Tropical Bliss), Drezel-Deidra Simmonds (Miss Karen Booker Designs) Marishan O’Sullivan (Miss Perfectil), Amaya Lewin (Miss Autocraze), Shanique Salmon (Miss Hilda’s Wine Jelly and Lamise Hamilton (Miss Interlinc).
The Miss Jamaica World competition is Jamaica’s premier beauty pageant. Jamaica has a proud tradition at the Miss World pageant, having produced three Miss Worlds – Carole Joan Crawford (1963), Cindy Breakspeare (1976) and Lisa Hanna (1993).
Sinclair finished in the top 10 and was crowned Miss Caribbean Continental Queen of Beauty at Miss World 2017.
