Pastor bats for ZOSO

-

Pastors Charles Brevitt, head of the Glendevon Circuit of Seventh-day Adventist Churches, is calling for the establishment of more zones of special operations (ZOSO), which he believes will be more effective than the ongoing state of public emergency in St James.

“I believe that the zone is more operationally effective because there is a multiplicity of activities that is taking place there, while the state of emergency is concentrated on routine,” Brevitt told the WESTERN STAR. “The only reason you and I know that there is a state of emergency is when we drive on the road and we are crossing into one of the parishes that borders St James. But in the different communities, we don’t really have policing and searches and that kind of stuff.”

Based on this observation, Brevet insists that more needs to be done.

“I would like to see more searches. I would like to see the state of emergency come off the roads and get inside the bellies of what is happening in the communities. The zone of special operations does a little more than that and consequently bears more fruit,” the outspoken man of the cloth stated.

“I have passed through many of the locations where the state of emergency is said to be happening, nobody stops me,” he said. “Nobody searches my vehicle, so I could be transporting anything. I could be a criminal, for God’s sake!” – A.F.
