Stepmother promised to kill me

Dear Pastor, This is the third time I am writing to you. I know you are a busy person, but I would like to read my letter in THE STAR, so I will be buying it for an answer. I want you to tell me if I am going about a problem the right way.

When I was a child, my stepmother did not like me because my father wasn’t into the relationship with her and he got involved with my mother and had me. Both of them were going to the same church. When my mother was pregnant with me, my stepmother told everybody about it. My mother stopped going to the church, and my father did the same thing.

I was told that one Sunday, the pastor read out my mother and my father out of the church membership. My stepmother applauded, but my father never left my mother. He was always at our house. He would eat and sleep at our house and then go home. When I started to attend school, my father took me to school, and my stepmother hated that.

One day, she came to my mother’s house and cursed her and told her that she tied my father and that is why he can’t leave her. She also promised to kill me. My mother told me that when my father came to see her that evening, she told him. He used a belt and gave his wife a few strokes across her back, and she even urinated on herself. She never interfered with my mother again.

Recently, she has been ill and my father asked me to help her. I did not want to do so, but he insisted that I do so. My mother never wanted me to go. Now, this woman is asking me to pardon her for all she has done to us and the things that she said about my mother. Do you think that I should forgive her? She has three children, but they are all abroad.
