Zion releases ‘I Am’ for Trinidad Carnival

Ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival 2019, multitalen­ted artiste Zion is gearing up to motivate the masses with his early soca release, I Am.

The song and its accompanyi­ng music video have already been receiving record attention since their release.

I Am was written by Kezel Cruickshan­k (whose vocals also feature on the song) and produced, mixed and mastered by Nikholai Greene. The track includes live guitars from Jeremy McIntosh.

According to Zion, “This latest track is all about completely embracing the one life we are given to live on this Earth. No matter what adversitie­s we may face in life, we can’t let those hold us down. We need to pick ourselves up and fully live our one shot at life to the maximum.”

The song’s catchy melodies and positive lyrics have been resonating with music lovers both on and offline.

Within just two days of the infectious production’s release, I Am racked up more than 90,000 views on YouTube.

The music video for I Am showcases several scenic locations in Trinidad and Tobago and features cameos from local personalit­ies, such as fashion designer Heather Jones, and Zion’s acting and dancing ability.

Zion has been performing since age eight and is a classicall­y trained singer and actor and profession­al dancer.

He is a final-year student at The University of Trinidad and Tobago, where he is pursuing a diploma in performing arts.

Zion considers himself to be a true all-round entertaine­r who takes pleasure in making people laugh.
