Gold Awards JA to recognise industry achievers

-

Gold Awards JA, formerly known as the Music Industry Achievers Awards, will make its return after a twoyear break.

The show awards welldeserved artistes, producers and media personalities for their contribution to the music industry.

It was first introduced in September 2011, and CEO Nackesha Doyley has managed to keep her vision alive despite the hiatus.

On Friday, December 7, the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston will come alive with the first staging of the revamped event. The event will see performances from Ikaya, Mr Lexx, Maestro Don, and others.

“I have worked hard to put this show out in the public’s eyes. Like most ventures in life, the beginning was not easy, but I believe in this show, and I am proud to have stood firm over the years. I went back to the drawing board, and I am trying at it again. I have learned never to give up,” said Doyley.

The award show boasts 23 categories, which include Male Artiste of the Year, Female Artiste of the Year, Producer of the Year, Breakthrough Artiste of the Year, Selector of The Year, Journalist of the Year, and Entertainment Program of The Year.

“Nominees were selected, and the full categories will be released soon. The winners will be selected by a poll that will be provided on the Gold Awards JA Facebook page,” said Doyley.
