Andrew Peart, coach of defending champions Jamaica College (JC), has warned his rivals that his team would be difficult to beat once they hit top form in this year’s ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup competitio­n. JC, who are seeking their sixth straight hold on the title, are now sole leaders of Group F following their 3-2 victory over Hydel in their top-ofthe-table clash on Saturday at the Caymanas field. The Dark Blues, who are unbeaten this season, had to work hard for the three points after the first half of the game ended 1-1. However, they took control of the second stanza and outplayed their opponents to claim the victory. Peart told STAR Sports that he is pleased with the progress of his team’s performanc­es so far this season, but he warned that they are still not at their best as yet. “We haven’t hit top form as yet. It is work in progress because it is a long season and we are just at the end of September, and so, we have two and half months of football left to play,” said Peart, who became head coach following the departure of Miguel Coley, who now serves as technical director of the programme.

“It would be worrying if we had already hit top form, and so we are working towards it,” he said.

Peart added that his players have been working hard in training and that he is optimistic that they will do well for the remainder of the season.
