Shenseea joins Instagram ‘million dollar club

-

On Sunday evening, Shenseea became the third and the youngest dancehall artiste to gain one million followers on Instagram. Coming into last weekend, the ‘shenyeng boss’ was poised to reach the coveted mark. However, after she posted a series of sexy photos and a video clip, which had some persons speculating whether she had body enhancement surgery done, she quickly raced to seven figures in followers. The feat was all the more impressive since she reached the landmark before a number of more seasoned entertainers. International dancehall artiste Sean Paul has 750,000 followers, while the self-proclaimed ‘Worl Boss’ Vybz Kartel currently has 438,000 followers. Alkaline, who has produced numerous hits since he came on to the dancehall scene has only amassed 582,000 followers and Ishawna has reached 554,000 followers. Meanwhile, Spice, who was the first dancehall artiste to reach the million mark, currently has 1.5 million followers. Unruly boss Popcaan joined the one million club in April and now has 1.1 million followers.

When THE STAR reached out to Shenseea’s team to speak about reaching the milestone, they said she had no comment.

However, her manager Romeich Major spoke glowingly in congratulating her on his Instagram page, while noting that it would help to push her music career even more.

“Yes yes @shenseea youngest dancehall artiste to reach million followers second female dancehall artiste next to one of the best @spiceofficial and third overall beside the great @popcaanmusic.

But he was soon forced to defend his artiste after some users of the social media platform accused him of buying followers for her, to which he did not take kindly.

“For real I think I should buy myself ... Damn fool me buy everything man, all life me buy, no worry. Have so much more to buy u see unnu head a go hurt unnu,” he replied to one person.

Several of Shenseea’s colleagues, including Popcaan and Ce’Cile, have since taken the time to congratulate the artiste on her latest achievement.
