Agent Sasco wants ‘Hope River’ to touch people’s lives
“This album very much represents me getting closer to what I believe my purpose in this music is supposed to be. It’s where I find my fulfilment – in doing content that means more than just music.”
That was the sentiment expressed by Agent Sasco as he spoke about his latest album, Hope River. Stating that he has always wanted to positively impact the lives of others through his music, the entertainer said he is most pleased that his latest effort is touching people in ways that align with his musical destiny.
Sasco was speaking at the official album launch at The Serengeti at Hope Zoo on Saturday night.
“I grew up in Kintyre, and this album represents for me where I am personally, musically and spiritually you could say as well. It has a lot to do with me looking back at what my journey has been from the perspective of the young man on the cover of the album, a 10-year-old me,” he said.
“At the time, music was already a big part of my life because I fell in love with music from as early as my memories go back. This album is also a look back through my experiences from the perspective of the 35-year-old me, making sense of a lot of the things I’ve learnt over the years,” he said.
The entertainer spoke about a security guard who he said thanked him for the album as it offered him hope during a “dark time” in his life.
“When I get to discover the value of music on that level, it is easy for me to use my talent,” he said. “This album is sharing a lot of things that I live by, so when a bredrin can tell me say, ‘Yow, this thing come at a dark part of my life, thank you for this music’, this is exactly what it’s about,” he said.
