Comedian’s passing sparks social media frenzy

Media personalit­y Elva Ruddock died yesterday after she had been ailing for some time.

News of her death shocked the local entertainm­ent, media and theatre landscape, all in which Ruddock made her mark.

Social media went into a frenzy as several users expressed shock and sadness at the news of Elva’s death.

Ruddock died at the Kingston Public Hospital following what is being described as a brief illness.

Entertainm­ent Minister Olivia Grange, in a release to the media, said: “Elva was one of those persons who could easily bring sunshine on a rainy day in anyone’s life. Her bubbly personalit­y was quite infectious.”

Grange also said: “Elva was one of a kind and will always be remembered for her hilarious interactio­ns on TV and radio.”

Ruddock was best known for her larger than life, bubbling personalit­y.

Her other media and television gigs include being a host of Fame FM’s Full House Fridays and co-host of the popular infomercia­l for the Bashco stores with Omar Azan.
