Comedian’s passing sparks social media frenzy
Media personality Elva Ruddock died yesterday after she had been ailing for some time.
News of her death shocked the local entertainment, media and theatre landscape, all in which Ruddock made her mark.
Social media went into a frenzy as several users expressed shock and sadness at the news of Elva’s death.

Ruddock died at the Kingston Public Hospital following what is being described as a brief illness.
Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange, in a release to the media, said: “Elva was one of those persons who could easily bring sunshine on a rainy day in anyone’s life. Her bubbly personality was quite infectious.”
Grange also said: “Elva was one of a kind and will always be remembered for her hilarious interactions on TV and radio.”
Ruddock was best known for her larger than life, bubbling personality.
Her other media and television gigs include being a host of Fame FM’s Full House Fridays and co-host of the popular infomercial for the Bashco stores with Omar Azan.
