Man held with 120 lead sheets

Aman who was reportedly held with numerous items connected to the lottery scam, including 120 lead sheets and 51 CDs with information on persons residing overseas, will stand trial in the St James Circuit Court on October 8, 2019.

David Anglin, of a Flanker address, is charged with possession of identity information.

Allegations are that on May 9, 2014, a police team was conducting an operation in Flanker, when they came to Anglin’s house and conducted a search.

A bag was found in a bedroom, and when opened, it was found to contain 120 papers containing overseas identity information, along with a notebook. Other items found in the room included 51 CDs, a laptop, a Samsung cellular phone, and a Magic-Jack device.

Anglin was subsequently arrested and charged.

When Anglin appeared in court on Wednesday, October 17, his attorney, Charles Sinclair, told High Court Justice Sharon George that the accused man was taking responsibility for the items that were reportedly found in the bag, but not for the laptop or other items.

Justice George, in turn, expressed concern that a social enquiry report, which had previously been ordered for Anglin by the court, indicated that the defendant had maintained his innocence in the matter.

The case was subsequently put off until the following day, at which time Anglin was given the trial date of October 8, 2019. His bail was also extended to that date.
