Santa Cruz resident wants to help Jamaicans eat healthy
Recent Lacovia High graduate Jevarney Abraham is over the moon after copping second place in the Miracle Lick Di Spot Sauce competition at the Grand Final of PAN 2018.
“All of this is God’s doing, and I feel like a real champion because mixing your passion with consistency leads to destined greatness and also creates opportunities to highlight my skills and talent. This can also lead to opening other doors, as this is the start of a journey for me,” said the Longwood Estates, Santa Cruz, resident.
Abraham’s long-term goal is to create opportunities for unemployed persons in and around his community. He hopes to open a healthy lifestyle restaurant, just one of his several entrepreneurial pursuits.
“I am very passionate about food and also about maintaining healthy lifestyle practices. I want to capitalise on the skills I have and contribute to helping Jamaicans to eat healthy,’’ said Abraham.
He was encouraged to enter PAN 2018 after attending the Grand Final at the HalfWay Tree Transport Centre last year.
“After seeing all the excitement at PAN 2017, I paid keen attention to how CB Foods has been creating opportunities for pan chicken men and women and opening doors for small entrepreneurs. That motivated me to enter, so I said, why not do it,” he said.
Entering PAN 2018 has paid rich dividends for Abraham, who emerged in second place for the parish of St Elizabeth at PAN 2018 Regional 2 last month. The result took him by surprise.
“I felt excited about coming second because it has been a great journey for me. A lot of hard work went into it and I wasn’t expecting the win but God did it,” said Abraham.
“The main ingredients were created by the utmost Lord. All of this was done with pure passion, locally grown tamarind, no sugar added, Miracle Ketchup and a special formula called love,” said Abraham.
