Mzs Quanny to release mixtape
Philadelphia-based dancehall artiste Mzs Quanny is aiming to thrill with the impending release of her latest mixtape, Moods Not Genre.
The project is a culmination of all her efforts to truly define her unique artistry.
“Before I came up with the idea for this mixtape, I was trying to find my lane,” she said. “People were always telling me to do this, to do that, and so I just decided to do me and encompass the different genres that are simply me.”
CULTURAL MELTING POT
The sound is a grand melting pot of all her heritages, as an American-born singer with Jamaican and Kittian parents.
The mixtape will feature a few favourites such as Bruk It Off and Badness, currently one of her hottest tracks on the streets.
Still hot on the promotional trail for the track, the singer has been receiving great feedback and recognition, especially since the release of the accompanying visual in February.
The project will also feature different people with whom she has connected along her entire musical journey.
The official release party for Moods Not Genres will be held on November 17 at the La Fusion Nightclub in Philadelphia.
The night will also mark the official release of the music video for her new track Beast.
Shot in Philadelphia, the concept is inspired by a critically acclaimed American thriller.
“It’s based on of the movie Get Out. In the video, she’s unlocking her inner beast, going from shy Quanny to a more confident, bold woman,” the artiste said.
