Daminance releases video for ‘Penguin’

-

After much anticipation, recording artiste Daminance has released the visuals behind his single which features popular disc jock Supa Hype.

The Gold Plaque Entertainment-produced track rose to popularity after weeks of intense promotion on the local dancehall scene.

With a strong promotional muscle from popular personalities such as Supa Hype, Boom Boom, Dancing Rebel, Kiss Kiss, Dolly Body and Pretty Pretty, the song became an anthem in the weekly street parties.

“This song brought a lot of happiness for women globally because it’s something different. I have received videos from dancers all over the world doing their version of the ‘Penguin,’ and it’s an amazing feeling to know that my song is so widely received,” said

Daminance.

The video was directed by Terminal 4 Media and released on January 8.

With the video already amassing 100,000 views across media platforms in weeks, Daminance gives his point of view as it relates to female dancers.

“I mentioned a lot of female dancers in the song just to let them know that I recognise their hard work, and I tried to get as many of them as possible to be in the video. Female dancers deserve way more credit than they receive because without females, the genre could not stand on its own. Female dancers bring a certain energy that dancehall needs,” he said. In a bid to keep the momentum going, Daminance has also released another woman anthem,

titled

featuring Thick Bad, which was produced by Prince

Villa Records.
