Ex-girlfriend inspires Yanni Cassanova’s latest track
New York-based dancehall artiste Yanni Casanova is paying tribute to his female fans with his latest single, ‘Position From Back’.
Speaking with THE
WEEKEND STAR, the entertainer said the track was inspired after having sexual intercourse with an ex-girlfriend.
“I’m not going to tell any lies, but I had an ex whose vagina was really fat. Thing that amazed me was that she was really slim, so that is the reason why I had the line that say ‘I never see a slim girl with a ‘body’ so fat’. Thick girls are really fat in the right places as well, so it’s no disrespect to the females who are not so slim; but that female was really an inspiration,” he said.
According to Yanni, he has been getting favourable responses from the track in the dancehall and looks toward it breaking musical barriers.
“The whole idea is to cut out the saying that dancehall artistes’ songs cannot past the airport so I am putting in a lot of work and promotion, both locally and internationally, and so far, persons from all over have been giving the song the thumbs up. As entertainers, we have to know that we have to treat our craft like a business and find out what it is that different markets want. When this happens, we can perform anywhere and for any audience,” he said.
Hailing from Mandeville, Jamaica, Yanni made his entry into the entertainment industry a few years ago.
Earlier this year, he partnered with manager Davila and Kido Stealth Music, who play the role of road manager. Since then, he has been involved in several charitable and educational events.
“I will be in the island soon and my focus will not be on music alone, but I will be doing a very special project at a children’s home, while contributing to the needs of a few individuals. Giving back is something we should all do because this is what really gives us our blessings,” he said.
