Azoo has named a giraffe Corona. The animal was born on April 9 at Bali Safari Park in Indonesia.

Video footage released by the zoo, which has been closed since March to halt the spread of the coronavirus, showed the giraffe being born in a small enclosure.

Sujana said:

“She was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, so the environment minister ... named her Corona. Corona is healthy and is still breastfeeding. We’ll keep her under observation for three months.”

A couple in India named their twins Corona and Covid as they were born during the nation’s lockdown.

Preeti and Vinay Verma said that the names would remind them about the hardships they faced during the lockdown.
