‘I am hoping for a miracle’

-

Joy Francis is suffering from kidney failure and is seeking help to pay for dialysis treatment, which she has to get three times weekly, at $11,500 per visit.

Francis, from a Windsor Heights address in St Catherine, told THE STAR that she has been sick for over a year now, is unable to work, and is desperately appealing for financial help to pay her medical bills.

“The challenge is that the KPH (Kingston Public Hospital) and Spanish Town Hospital, the renal unit, they are full so I am on a waiting list, so during that period of time I have to pay for it until I get on the list,” Francis said.

The disease has caused her tummy to swell. Her condition means she either has to get dialysis treatment regularly or undergo a kidney transplant.

“I am hoping for a miracle,” she said, when asked what she wants to happen.
