Don Reid releases short bio film
Don Reid, the bank managerturned-songwriter/ recording-artiste, has released a short film and music video chronicling his life story, titled I Know Who I Am.
The short film depicts the story of his triumph over an emotionally traumatic and impoverished childhood, after being abandoned by his biological mother and left in the care of a total stranger at the tender age of two.
The film, which runs about 12 minutes long, is shot on location in his childhood home town of Claremont, St Ann. The film takes the viewers on the fascinating no-holdsbarred journey into Reid’s life, which is centred around the Claremont market where he was raised by an elderly stranger known in the community as ‘Miss Lou’.
INTRIGUING PLOT
The film has been released on YouTube, and Facebook and Instagram under the artiste’s official account, TheDonReidShow.
“The film is also on over 35 digital platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer,” Reid said.
The short film presents the intriguing plot of the economic hardships during the artiste’s humble childhood and his subsequent transition into being a successful career banker.
Reid first burst on to the entertainment scene in September 2018 with the single Hospital Food. He later followed up with Courts, a parody of Koffee’s Toast.
Reid has been generating an impressive level of traction since his emergence as an entertainer with his unique style of hilariously packaging real-life incidents in a musically and lyrically skilled manner.
He is currently working on his debut EP titled Boomshots, which features eight tracks set to reggae and dancehall-infused rhythms. Although a newcomer to the industry, Reid believes he can deliver just as well as the veterans.
“My mission is to build a brand that is recognisable locally and internationally, and deliver great music with intelligent lyrics and excellent arrangements,” he said.
