Aregular interaction with popular selector Boom Boom recently birthed the philanthropic spirit in dancehall artiste Radijah Riskboss.

The hardcore deejay was participating in Boom Boom’s weekly live Instagram party where he was challenged to join in on the deejay’s give-back initiative.

Radijah Riskboss accepted the challenge, and before long, he and his Rag2Riches team had put together an amount of cash to purchase essential items for this month’s installation of Boom Boom’s care package handouts.

In an interview with THE STAR, Radijah Riskboss said he had been toying with the idea of starting his own charity initiative but was drawn to lend support to Boom Boom’s drive instead.

He said there was something about the genuineness behind the selector’s cause that made him want to team up.

INSPIRED TO HELP

“We, basically, go to Boom Boom about helping with promotion for our new single, Jiggle Nuh, and the whole thing did just change. Him a show we say him have this care drive a go on fi people affected by the coronavirus, and him ask fi gi him a strength, and so me and mi manager, Rags2Riches, decide say we a go dweet because we see him (Boom Boom) efforts and we love it,” he said. “Boom Boom a help out poor people, people weh really need it, and as a trying yute himself, we admire that. Him a show say yuh nuh affi have nuff fi help. Some place weh me see Harry Hype and Boom Boom a go pan dem Instagram, it touch me, and so we put together some money and give Boom Boom to buy things to put inna the bags.”

The handover was done recently, and Radijah Riskboss, noting the reaction of the beneficiaries, said he was happy that he had helped out.

“Everybody look so joyful for it, like dem really appreciate it. COVID lockdown a whole heap a thing fi a whole heap a people, and when yuh see people crying tears to get a bag wid some goods, yuh know things rough. It really did give me a joy knowing me coulda help somebody,” he said.
