Deo Favente attacks global issues with new song

-

Reggae artiste Deo Favente has released his roots reggae single Jah Lion Roar, which tackles global issues.

The record is a socialcommentary effort and according to the artiste, such content is needed in times of distress.

“People are going through a lot right now and we as artistes have a duty to deliver messages of encouragement and motivation. We have to push on, and I am hoping that Jah Lion Roar can inspire fans to be driven to survive these trying times,” he said.

While there are plans for entertainment events to return, Deo Favente is also advising his fellow recording artistes to get creative.

“I suggest that artistes keep promoting their material and start selling merchandise. I would also encourage you to take the time to increase your social media following. You may also reach out to certain music organisations that have funds to help in these crazy times,” he said.

Deo Favente has been targeting markets like the Caribbean, Gambia, Ghana, US and Europe. He believes reggae music is needed, especially during this period.

LOVE AND UNITY

“The message of love and unity is needed in these times with this coronavirus affecting our world. However, at the same time, I am trying so hard to write songs without using the coronavirus as a focal point. I am not feeling the idea of following this pattern that every artiste is doing. However, I do appreciate that more artistes are making conscious music during this period,” he said.
