Ganggoolie changes his musical style

Dancehall artiste Ganggoolie said he has moved away from social commentary and is helping Internet sensations to focus on delivering a new flow in his music.

“Mi change up every likkle ting. Some of the Internet sensation dem ungrateful so mi jus move away from giving them strength cause dem think you a ride on dem wagon. Music is a partnershi­p, it work fi you and work for me so both partners a benefit,” he said.

He shows his new flow on the single Talk Big which tackles issues including the power of money.

Ganggoolie explained, “Mi a meds how Jamaica a run and once you start handle money you a fi go have a gun whether legal or otherwise. You find out say once you have the money everybody want tek it from you so you a fi go try protect your life.” A music video for the single is also in rotation.

According to the Muscle Wine singer, another reason for refocusing his career is COVID-19.

He said, “Tell you the real truth, corona good and it bad. I been surviving over the years, but since corona forward in, mi career and song dem even better cause mi a sing dubplate like every day. A fuss me ever see something like this. That only teach mi a lesson say a lucky thing me did a voice good song. A dub me a live off right now and it keep me going mi a fi give God the glory.”

He said the response to Talk Big has been overwhelmi­ng, and people have even been questionin­g if it’s him on the track.

“Time change and you a fi try change with the time. You change and add a likkle of the 90s style with the new flow. Remember as life goes on, you learn as you live. So you can’t play stubborn,” Ganggoolie said.
