National women’s striker Khadija Shaw’s prolific form continues as she scored her 10th goal of the season to ensure that her French team Bordeaux beat Le Harve 2-0 on Saturday.

First-half goals from Ghoutia Karchouni in the seventh minute and Shaw in the 15th secured back-to-back wins for Bordeaux for the second time this season and maintain hold of third place in the league with 14 points.

Shaw’s recent performance comes on the heels of being named the D1 Feminine’s Player of Month for October, winning 44% of the vote. She beat out Paris FC’s Clara Mateo and Paris Saint Germain’s (PSG) Sandy Baltimore for the honour. The 23-year-old was on a goal-scoring tear, having scored seven goals from four games last month. It involved her putting four past Fluery 91 in their 6-1 win on October 10 and her second hat-trick this season on October 31 in a 5-1 rout of Dijon.

SHOW APPRECIATION

She took to Instagram to show her appreciation in English and French for the award.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for me for the Player of the Month. Merci d’avoir

vote pour moi. Joueuse du mois,” she said. Shaw maintains her lead in the Golden Boot standings and has now equalled the total goals she scored last season after only eight games played. Kadidiatou Diani of PSG is in second place with eight and her teammate Nadia Nadim is in third with seven, thanks in part to both scoring eight combined goals in PSG’s 14-0 win over Issy FF on Saturday.

Bordeaux will host Paris FC in their next league fixture on Sunday.
