-

Dancehall artiste Alandon is basking in the success of his latest single Tightest. The video for the song has amassed more than one million views on YouTube since it was released on March 10.

Additionally, Tightest is reportedly gaining momentum on FM radio in the US east coast, the United Kingdom and Africa. Locally, the song has been making the rounds on popular radio stations.

“It’s an amazing feeling when you feel like you’re finally reaping the benefits from all the long nights in the studio. I’m not just talking about creating or recording the song but also being involved in the planning of how the video should look and feel. I cherish moments like these when the vision of both myself and the team is manifested,” Alandon explained.

FORTUNES CHANGED

He shared that since the song has gained popularity, his fortunes have changed.

“The success of the song has garnered more attention my way in terms of dubplate requests, radio interviews and also opportunities for collaborations with other artistes,” said Alandon.

A social media promotion is expected to be launched on July 23, to further accelerate the promotion of the song.

Said Alandon, “Promotion never ends, I’m still promoting to this day. There are a lot of people in the world who are yet to hear my song, so why would I not try to continue connecting with the masses? The team and myself promote heavily through social media platforms as well as word of mouth. Even though social media plays a critical role we believe you need foot soldiers in the streets as well.”

The deejay is the grandnephew of the late sound and mix engineer Osbourne ‘ King Tubby’ Ruddock. Originally from Waterhouse, St Andrew, Alandon resides in the US.
