No welcome mat for the unvaxxed at Ce’cile’s house

While other dancehall artistes are squabbling over royal titles, Ce’cile has always maintained that she is the Bad Gyal, and an outspoken one too, but also one who plays by the rules.

Last week, Ce’cile spoke her truth about the pandemic and the vaccine, declaring that she does not want unvaccinated persons in her home. And while it may have rattled some persons, she is firmly sticking to her position. Calmly informing her 404,000 followers on Instagram that she has been fully vaccinated with the AstraZeneca shot, she went on to say something that was greeted with mixed reactions.

“I’m no longer allowing people in my homes without them being vaccinated,” she stated without apology.

“I simply cannot afford to. I’ve seen how even friends of mine have been careless and nonchalant and In DENIAL about Covid until THEY CAUGHT IT. And had I been a different careless person or not vaccinated I probably would have been around them and caught it but the difference was I HAVE ASTHMA and I may not have been as lucky as they were to overcome it,” the mother of one said in a detailed post.

The responses were diverse, from fans praising her decision, to those questioning if she was an immunologist and what science she was following. But there were way more positive comments than there were opposers.

In an interview with THE WEEKEND STAR, Ce’cile reasserted her position.

“My stance is I want nobody in my private residence who is unvaccinated – family or friends. I’ve had this stance prior to us even having vaccines, meaning, I’ve barely let people come inside my house since COVID. When I’m outside of my house, unfortunately, I don’t have a chance,” she said.

Quizzed if she had been ‘unfriended’ by anyone because of her stand, the Bad Gyal said she didn’t know “but really wouldn’t care”.

VACCINATED MOVIEGOERS

Ce’cile’s position is not so farfetched. Celebs in Tinsel Town have been publicly shunning the unvaccinated. Actor Sean Penn declared that he wants only vaccinated moviegoers to attend his newly released flick, Flag Day. “… as much as I want people all to go to the theatre, I really only want people who are vaccinated and are safe to themselves and each other to go,” Penn said. Whether or not people followed his instruction, is still up for debate, however, the box office was dismal with deadline.com reporting, ‘Sean Penn’s Flag Day Fails To Fly’. Friends star Jennifer Aniston recently defended her decision to cut unvaccinated people out of her life and Bollywood actress Aahana S Kumra says she does not want to meet people who are not fully vaccinated.
