Deeclef, Fully Bad offer ‘Dutty Love’

Singer Deeclef and deejay Fully Bad are serving up ‘Dutty Love’ for the ladies, a concept captured in the visuals released on Friday.

The single is the only feature from Deeclef’s Agape EP, which he said is being well-received.

“It’s amazing because it’s one of my videos that’s giving me traction right now,” Deeclef told THE STAR.

“A lot of people are sharing it as well so the reception is good so far.”

The Shyheim Entertainment production was initially intended to be feature-free, but Deeclef believed it would be better as a collaboration. With the help of his team, he connected with Fully Bad who loved the track and contributed two verses. The music video was shot in Kingston, and as they would say, the rest is history.

Agape premiered in July with seven tracks dedicated to uplifting women through lyrics of love.

Deeclef cited his inspiration as the harsh realities many women navigate on a daily basis.

PAYING RESPECT TO FEMALES

“In Jamaica right now you have a lot of crime. The man dem a abuse the females and a lot of younger girls are going missing. The EP didn’t have any content which said that but I’m just showing all females that you got that man out there that really love and appreciate them because a woman birth us from creation, so I’m just paying my respect to all females. Agape is God’s love for us as humans and the love we have for God as well, so I just tweaked it a little and this is how I show my Agape love to all females.”

The Mandeville native is pleased with the feedback for the project, which coincides with his aim to make music that has a wide appeal.

“People say it’s different because the sound and the beat has that international and crossover appeal,” he said. “I’m currently living in the United States, so I try to slow down my lyrics so people can understand me more. I’m just doing music that the world can understand and gravitate to so when I go out there and perform my music, they can sing my music too like the

great Bob Marley did, except I’m doing it my own way. We put in our work and already executed it, so we just left everything in God’s hand and hope for the best.”
