One of dancehall’s newest sensations, Bayka, has plenty of high expectations for the upcoming release of the remix to his hit single She Like It, which he did with Stefflon Don.

“It has been a very busy time for me, and to secure a collaboration or any work with an international act like Stefflon Don is a positive. We connected multiple times and working with her was good. The energy was natural and she is a phenomenal woman and artiste,” Bayka told THE WEEKEND STAR. He continued, “We are getting a lot of work done and even a few projects for her, too. I hope it gets a greater look in, and greater audience for us and the genre. But, yeah man, the work is being done. As we speak, I’m heading to Canada for a show.” Bayka is the headlining act on the ‘1Uptown’ live show in Toronto, named after the deejay’s TikTok trending single. He is currently enjoying huge success on the dancehall scene with only a small catalogue of songs. Several of them have amassed over one million views on YouTube, including the original She Like It, the aforementioned 1Uptown, Mobster, Top Tier and Statistic which also features another rising local act, Lone Don.

In just under a year since launching his career in music, Bayka has also landed several major bookings and performed at events such as Igloo on Dream Weekend and Chug It in Negril, Teen Fest and Sting, which were both held in St Ann, and Jam Fest in Montego Bay.

At the end of 2022, She Like It ended up on Grammy-winning British rock band Coldplay’s list of favourite songs, and it has since captured the attention of more listeners, with a larger number of streams being garnered from the European markets.

“I am more than grateful. I hope it means I will definitely be on some more shows, even shows in Europe, and that it means more travelling in the coming year to expose my brand and

music,” Bayka said.
