- SIMONE MORGAN-LINDO STAR Writer

Yesterday, Burnal Coley spent a portion of his afternoon travelling through the Corporate Area in search of his older brother Rinton Coley.

The 81-year-old, who hails from Galloway Road, off Maxfield Avenue, St Andrew, has been missing since early December and his loved ones are worried sick.

“We are really worried about him because he is 81 years old and can’t manage on his own. Right now (yesterday) myself and others are out searching for him and putting up posters. We just want him to be back home because although him nuh have any major sickness, him get sick sometimes. I just asking everyone to keep an eye out for him,” Coley said.

He said that early last month he received a call from one of Rinton’s neighbours that he was not seen at home for about two days. The neighbours said he had told them that he was going to Half-Way Tree to sell some items. However, the bucket of goods remained at his home. Coley said Rinton, who lived alone, sometimes wandered away from home.

“He went away already for a day and the police took him home after he gave them his address. This is the first time that he has gone away so long, so now we worried bad. I have checked KPH (Kingston Public Hospital) and he is not there. Mi check couple funeral homes as well and there are no bodies matching his description. We even go to homeless shelters but no one has seen him,” he said.

Rinton is of dark complexion and slim built. His mode of dress at the time of his disappearance is unknown.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Rinton Coley is being asked to contact the Hunts Bay police at 876-923-7111. Persons may also contact Coley’s family members at 876-347-5585, 876-325-8244 or 876-446-3220.
