$48 billion in lottery winnings

-

Players of Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) number games such as Cashpot, Lotto and Super Lotto won a whopping $48 billion last year.

The company said big wins were not limited to its numbers games, as scores of other players also became millionaires by cashing in on big wins across the company’s sports betting product JustBet and horse racing at Caymanas Park.

Among the newest entries to the multimillionaire club was A. Fraser, who made history by winning the largest-ever Super Lotto jackpot of $542.5 million in April. Fraser, like the majority of SVL’s millionaires, was overwhelmed at his overnight change in fortune and was eager to use the money to change his and his family’s lives and create generational wealth.

“Lord knows I been through a lot of struggles. I remember, as a youth, some days were rough. Even as a father now, there were days I could hardly find it to buy food for the kids. I always tell them to keep the faith and that whenever I get money they will be alright, so now dem alright. Now that I’ve won this Super Lotto jackpot, they can now enjoy life, they have nothing to worry about,” said an emotional Fraser when he was collecting his historic jackpot.

Subsequent to Fraser’s massive Super Lotto win, the multi-jurisdictional game was hit twice again in Jamaica – $342 million won in November, and a jackpot of $144.6 million won in December.

Xesus Johnston, CEO Supreme Ventures Gaming, said the lottery games have helped many persons to fulfil their dreams and transform their lives and communities .

“One thing that is consistent among all our winners is their desire to transform their lives with their newly found fortune. Their first thought when they collect their winnings is usually to continue their education, fund their children’s education or invest in their businesses. This is very heartening for us, because the ripple effect of these winnings often reaches far beyond the winner’s pocket but extends to the wider community and, ultimately, the Jamaican economy,” Johnston said.

The Lotto jackpot was hit five times in 2023 – $63 million in February, $45 million in March, $49 million and $35 million in May, and the highest Lotto jackpot of 2023, an impressive $100 million in October.

The winner of the $35-million May jackpot did not collect the prize.
