Grammy-nominated entertainer Zac Jone$ has recently unveiled his latest single, Truth Is, which explores the dynamics between love and finances in relationships.

Set against a seductive musical backdrop, the track delves into the modern-day conundrum of people choosing between love and money.

“Now-a-days relationships go through a lot when it comes on to love versus money – whether to go after money or pursue true love,” said Jone$, a songwriter, musician and model.

He reasoned: “A lot of girls will seh, ‘Mi nuh want no man, mi just want money, or mi want a money man’. Guys right now a seh,‘Mi can’t bother wid love, a jus’ money mi a pree.’ So Truth Is really explores this, mainly from the female perspective, in which Sarah

Couch is the featured artiste.”

The entertainer said that he, too, has had to deal with the complex interplay of love and financial security within relationships.

“Me is a man weh seh love still, but mi also seh money, but a just you affi know how fi balance your ting; but mi believe inna love,” Jone$ told THE STAR.

“The truth is, love hurts,” Zac shared with a laugh. “But believe in love, because love is real and love is what runs the world. Many times, this decision about whether to [give up on] love or choose money is from a place of fear of being hurt again and letting somebody back in. But if the love is true, work wid it and then you and your partner can build from there,” the artiste said.

The Kingston-born artiste described his music as a reggae, dancehall and hip-hop fusion from early 2000s R&B and hip-hop artistes such as Lil Bow Wow, Jah Rule and Farrell. His love and admiration for females is also conveyed is Jone$’ 2019 hit single, Miss Jamaica, featuring reggae superstar Agent Sasco.

He is currently working on his upcoming debut EP, an eight-track compilation about love and relationship titled Treasure Beach.

Zac is also known for singles such as Doe Care, The Weed Song with Jesse Royal and Nostaljah.
