Queenie rekindles relationship with Dewey
The ‘queen’ has reconciled with her ‘king’, and the royal couple has moved into a new palace. This long-in-coming reunion began on Valentine’s Day when Dewey reached out to his then estranged wife, Queenie, via telephone.
“I didn’t know it was him. The phone drop out of my hand and mi eye get watery, and mi seh, ‘Dewey?’ Him seh ‘A long time mi waah call yuh’. Mi just start scream and make bare noise and that was one of the great moments where mi feel butterflies and lightening,” Queenie said.
She shared that after their separation she had resigned to be Dewey’s friend as she did not think it was possible to rekindle their fire. However, after the Valentine’s Day podcast they agreed to meet on the set of the Total Package podcast.
“When Dewey agree to do the podcast, I was in my element again and was glad that he came. Mi did scared because mi a hide from him and him a hide from me,” Queenie said.
During their time apart, Dewey was seen in the arms of Momo, another social media influencer. Weeks later, news began circulating that the two had parted ways.
Dewey has insisted that “Nothing never serious or active with me and she”. He also said his time away from Queenie caused him to recognise how much he missed her.
“Sometimes yuh put yuh foot in some shoes and a when it squeeze, yuh then yuh realise say it don’t make any sense. Yuh have to just reconsider and go back to the drawing board, and is just one of those times. It is just the right time,” Dewey said of his reunion.
Queenie and Dewy met almost four years ago and the couple tied the knot in April 2021. While episodes of their romance was often shared via their social media pages, their marriage was far from perfect and included verbal, emotional and physical abuse.
Their nasty break-up sent tongues wagging as persons readily gave unsolicited relationship advice, especially to Queenie. Rap/hip hop super star Nicki Minaj, in a TikTok Live session, encouraged the
‘One Man To Mi Ooodie’ singjay to look after her mental well-being.
“With Sagittarius queens, we don’t only get through it, we get on top of it!… Don’t stress yourself; don’t be crying…the devil is a liar, and you are going to eventually have to love yourself so much, and it’s going to attract even more love, and goodness and blessings because everybody can see that you’re a great human being,” Nicki Minaj said.
Now that she has rekindled with her husband, Queenie is filled with optimism about the future.
“We can make miracles,” she said. “Love conquers all and it’s Jah blessing. I believe in that,” the Double Tap singer added.
However, Queenie’s excitement is not shared by all of her many fans on social media, some of whom she said have unfollowed her account.
Queenie, however, is unperturbed by the loss of fans and followers. “Fom I was little I know it was best to follow my heart. My heart and the emotion value more than comments and I don’t know these people from nowhere,” Queenie said. “They are my fans and I appreciate them, but I don’t know what’s going on in their lives and I made my decision based on my heart and not the world,” she added.
