End of the Racing Season

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit one of the oldest racetracks in the former Soviet Union, now 87 years old. It was opened in March 1930 as a centre to train horses to race as trotters and on the flat. The world-famous stallion, Absinth, Olympic champion in 1960, was trained here. On the last day of the season there are competitions and raffles, and this is the day of the race for the autumn prize. English thoroughbreds will race and bets will be taken. Tours of the racetrack can be booked during the week, when you can visit the stables, watch training sessions, meet jockeys and take riding lessons.
