Merzouga in Morocco – ask anyone if they have heard of it and you will find that very few have. Most know of Marrakech, Casablanca, Agadir or Fes, yet the small village of Merzouga will absorb your entire trip. Here is the desert, the real one, on the outskirts of the Moroccan Sahara, with dunes, camels and bedouins. Everything here is wonderful. Merzouga is, in fact, the gateway to the Sahara. Every day tourists depart in a column of camels or with quad bikes to enjoy the very special experience of being in the desert. The colours are wonderful and can change at any moment. Photos taken with or without a flash come out completely differently.
