Opera
Carmen, in the opera by the French composer, Georges Bizet, is both heroine and femme fatale. The story, groundbreaking at the time for its realism, tells how a soldier and a fiery gypsy fall in love and how that love turns him into a deserter and a murderer. The opera shocked its Parisian audience when it was first shown. Bizet died of a heart attack three months later believing that his opera was a failure, and never knew that it was destined to become acknowledged as one of the masterpieces of classic opera.
Astana Opera presents a star-studded performance, conducted and directed by Alan Buribayev and produced by Lorenzo Amato from Italy. With talented performers and beautiful costumes, this will be a moving experience.
