Mud Volcanos

For a whistle-stop tour of one of Azerbaijan’s natural wonders – its mud volcanos – you’ll need to take a short drive outside Baku to the Gobustan National Park. The largest of the volcanos is featured in the Guinness Book of Records, and when the gas it emits ignites, the flames shoot a kilometre up into the sky. The smaller mud volcanos simply bubble and fart, and guides might allow you to set fire to one yourself.
