Baden-baden is my favourite European resort city. It is famous for its hot springs that were popular with the ancient Romans. The city is small but friendly, clean and green. It is interesting that in 1931 it was called Baden, but as people so often described it as ‘Baden in the region of Baden’ it developed into a double name: Baden-baden. The historic centre of the city has open access to wi-fi. I recommend a visit to the popular thermal baths to enjoy all the amenities and the radonrich mineral waters known since the days of the Roman Empire. The local mountain, Merkur, offers an admirable view of the city; in good weather you can even see Hohenbaden Castle.
