Last November, exactly two months after the closure of the Expo, a new complex was officially opened by the Astana EXPO 2017 National Company. It includes the Nur Alem Pavilion, which is currently a Museum of Future Energy, a Zone of Best Practices with 24 of the world’s best projects using renewable energy from 13 different countries, thematic pavilions and an art centre, where the first Kazakhstan Centre of Modern Art is currently located. There are also restaurant­s, cafés and food courts on the site. The internatio­nal specialise­d exhibition EXPO 2017 Future Energy was held in Astana from 10 June to 10 September 2017, and welcomed over 3,860,000 visitors.
