What should I wear?
Hunts are traditionally well dressed and smart, as a mark of respect to the owners of the land they ride across, but the clothing is also practical and designed for riding cross-country in the winter. Only the master and whippers-in wear scarlet, known as ‘pink’; if riding, adults tend to wear black or navy coats, but you will see some in tweed too.
These are paired with black leather riding boots and a white hunting ‘stock’ (this is a long piece of white cloth tied and knotted around the neck).
For foot or car followers, warm clothing, waterproof coats and wellington boots are the popular choice.
