It is fair to say that Koh Chang is not the place for those looking for a wild nightlife. It is the lack of noisy bars that sets the island apart from Phuket and Pattaya. If you like reggae music, head to the bars on Lonely Beach. Alternatively, go to White Sand Beach, which is home to what is probably the largest bar on the island, called Sabay. Here you can enjoy the comfort of settling down on a trestle bed or deckchair as evening falls, listening to live music and sipping a cold cocktail. One of the island’s most popular entertainments is a fire show, with the most elaborate being staged at Sabay. The action takes place on the beach accompanied by drum beats and the sound of the waves, while the dark night is illuminated with sparkling flashes of fire and light.
