Cau Ngu, the Fishermen’s Festival, Vietnam

Do you like Vietnamese cuisine, especially fish and seafood? If so you should visit the country’s largest festival for fishermen, held in a fishing village located 12 kms from Danang. People here continue the ancient traditions relating to the worship of the sacred whale, and spectators can enjoy a colourful night ceremony, as decorated boats float out over the water carrying fishermen and their families wearing national costumes and reading prayers. Afterwards they celebrate with singing and games and feasting on various fish dishes.
