Hong Kong has always been a port city, so you do need to see it from the water. Although there are plenty of cruise ships out on the harbour, one of the most convenient and affordable options is to take the Star Ferry from Kowloon Point. The ride is only short - one hour if you take the round trip to Causeway Bay - but you’ll get a good sense of everyday life for Hongkongers. It’s also a great deal of fun.
