Istanbul is an ancient city saturated with the spirit of antiquity. It has a special pace of life, and in order to get into it you need to spend at least two weeks in the Old City. Turkish breakfast is an unhurried, measured repast, during which it is inappropriate to rush anywhere. Enjoy the moment! It is easy to get lost in the numerous streets of the ancient city, so use the navigator on your smart phone to help you find that restaurant you are looking for, concert hall, museum, square or even a house. Make sure to book a tour of the Bosphorus Strait and eat a fish sandwich on a wharf. Visit St Sophia Cathedral, the Blue Mosque or Sultan Ahmed Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. Try a Turkish street meal: roasted chestnuts and cooked corn are sold at every corner, along with fried fish, kebabs, pomegranate juice, baklava. The words even sound delicious.
