My love story began in this city. In 2004 I went to Italy to study languages and my future husband came to see me in the Christmas holidays. Our chosen rendezvous was Rome, a city where every street and brick is saturated with history. The Coliseum is one of the most impressive surviving constructions of the ancient world. Everyone throws a coin into the Trevi Fountain, hoping to be able to return. Rent a bike and visit the Borghese Villa, the scenic landscaped park. Three museums and a large zoo are located in the grounds. The Vatican is well worth a visit with its palace complexes, gardens and galleries. The Piazza Venezia gives you the best views in Rome, and you can see it, white, majestic and elegant, from far away. You can relax and indulge yourself with an ice cream while sitting on one of the high marble benches. This is where my husband proposed to me, on 31 December on the stroke of midnight and of course I said yes. We will certainly come back, many times I hope.
