Dear Air Astana flyer,
The Langham Hotel in Central
London was a cosmopolitan and colourful place on 17th July, as smartly uniformed staff from the world’s best airlines gathered for the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards. Approximately 25 airlines scooped up the 70 awards on offer, ranging from Best Economy Class Catering to Airline of the Year.
455 airlines, comprising virtually the entire industry, are regularly surveyed through the Skytrax website, which has as a result become the gold standard for airline service. I am very pleased to say that for the 7th year in succession Air Astana won Best Airline Central Asia and India, from a field of 38 airlines, making us the only airline to have ever won 7 straight titles in its regional league. I am proud of my colleagues for having achieved this and grateful to you, our customers, for your steadfast support. Air Astana is only 16 years old, therefore to have been recognised as regional leader for nearly half of that time is testament to the loyalty of people like you who choose to fly with us. We will do all possible to repay that loyalty by consistently improving.
This edition’s cover feature draws attention to some of the lesserknown attractions that Turkey has to offer. Istanbul was one of our first international routes. Our high density of flights to its capital city from
Almaty, Astana and Atyrau, operated in code share with Turkish Airlines, and seasonal operations to Antalya from Almaty and Astana, make us one of the leading foreign airlines in the country.
I wish you a pleasant flight today. Yours sincerely
Peter Foster
