Packages appealing to baseball fans

Hotels are actively devising special packages linked to baseball to attract enthusiasts of the nation’s No. 1 sport.

They offer must-have items for stadium visitors and baseball-related free perks along with a one-day comfy stay, and even a baseball simulation game.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) has long been the most-popular pro sports league here, drawing more than 8.4 million fans last year

The Lotte Hotel World has started a “base-loaded, two-out package” that will run through Sept. 30 — the final day of the 2018 season.

The sports package features a one-night stay in one of its superior rooms, a portable fan and a table as well as a food box that is comprised of four beers, a bag of beef jerky, a cold reserve bag and plastic cups — all of which will be awesome for those who visit the stadium. The package is offered at 220,000 won ($205).

The Lotte hotel has easy access to Jamsil Stadium as it is located two subway stops away from the ballpark — home to the Seoul-based Doosan Bears and LG Twins.

“The Lotte City Hotel Guro unveiled the baseball-related package last year and it drew rave reviews and saw great demand for renewing it this year,” said Shim Hee-seung, general-manger of the Lotte Hotel World. Gocheok Sky Dome, home turf of the Nexen Heroes, is located in Guro.

“We hope more baseball fans will experience more pleasant and unforgettable memories through our new package.”

The Glad Gangnam COEX Center is also attempting to lure baseball fans to the hotel with the “Glad Homerun Package.”

According to the hotel, the baseball package, priced at 133,000 won, provides guests with a Lock & Lock KBO water bottle — a must-have item for baseball fans that features 10 different uniform bodies with its bottle cap shaped like a baseball cap with different faces — as well as a one-night stay.

Also, those who choose the special offering receive two outdoor mats and free access to the fitness center of the hotel.

“On the occasion of the baseball season, we have come up with a package integrating sports with relaxation,” said an official of the Glad Gangnam COEX Center.

“The package guests will be able to enjoy the baseball with our offerings and they will also relax at the hotel close to Jamsil Stadium after watching games.”

Those who are interested in the package can call (02) 6474-5000.

The Novotel Ambassador Seoul Doksan is offering something different from the aforementioned promotions.

The hotel, located in Geumcheon in the southwest corner of Seoul, is appealing to those who still want to enjoy something about baseball a little bit after watching the games.

Its package features a voucher of a nine-inning baseball simulation game for two people — “Legend Baseball” — that can be used in one of the franchise’s stores near the hotel.

In addition, guests can use the fitness center as well as a swimming pool and a sauna free of charge.

Plus, if they choose a package with a free breakfast, two children aged under 16 can get a free meal, as well.

For reservations and inquires, call (02) 3282-6502. and that for red bean,

42,000 won.

Plus, the desserts will be served with special dry-ice plating that creates a cloud-like effect.

The Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas offers a “Take-out Bingsu for One” until Aug. 31.

The dessert debuted last year at the hotel’s patisseries Grand Deli and was a great success among office workers as well as customers thanks to its convenience and affordable price.

Guests are offered a choice between a classic red bean bingsu at 10,000 won and ice flake mango bingsu at 15,000 won.
