80 kilos spoiled food destroyed

Owners of unlicensed shops deported

KUWAIT CITY, July 23: The Jahra Municipali­ty during a surprise campaign against shops, food stores and restaurant­s has seized and destroyed 80 kilos of spoiled foodstuffs, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The Municipali­ty inspectors have also issued citations to several outlets for violating laws.

Meanwhile, twelve Asians who were arrested during a crackdown on unlicensed shops in Sabah Al-Nasser and Firdous, have been deported, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

However, many families in these two areas have equally blamed the Kuwaitis for allowing Asians to operate small shops (groceries and laundry) from inside their homes.

The families say this is one of the reasons for the influx of Asian bachelors living among the families. ‘Fit’ docus must: The Nationalit­y and Travel Documents sector of the Ministry of Interior has issued a decision obliging visitors to the country to carry with them a medically ‘FIT’ certificat­e from their respective government hospitals endorsed by the Kuwaiti consulates, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added, the decision was taken after it was noticed many expatriate­s who entered the country on visit visas were suffering from chronic diseases.

This is done to prevent them from benefittin­g from free treatment at Kuwait’s government hospitals.

The decision will be submitted to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for endorsemen­t. Diamonds stolen: Police are looking for an unidentifi­ed thief who allegedly broke into the home of a well-known Kuwaiti actor and stole the diamond necklace belonging to his wife, reports Al-Shahed daily.

In a complaint to the police the actor’s wife said she discovered the theft when she returned home with her children after paying a visit to friends.

She told police the necklace is worth KD 150,000. The thief apparently entered the house by breaking one of the doors.

Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprin­ts to identify the thief. Asian bootlegger held: Police have arrested an unidentifi­ed Asian bootlegger and referred him to the authoritie­s, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

The daily quoting security sources said the suspect was caught by a police patrol in a suburb of Sabahiya.

The security sources said the suspect after seeing police changed course and the patrolmen ordered him to pull over.

In the car booth police found nine bottles of locally-manufactur­ed booze ready for sale. Indian assaulted: An unidentifi­ed Indian has filed a complaint with the police accusing a Kuwaiti of beating him, breaking the windshield of his car and setting fire to the interior of the car, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, this happened after the Indian was involved in two-vehicle collision at an unidentifi­ed location.

A case of destroying property of others, assaulting and taking the law in his hands has been recorded at the Sulaibikha­t Police Station, reports AlRai daily.

Police are looking for the suspect. Ex-wife abducts boy: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with a police station in the Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorat­e accusing his ex-wife of kidnapping their son, reports Al-Anba daily.

In his complaint to the police the man said his ex-wife kidnapped the boy when he was playing in a garden.

The kidnapper allegedly beat the maid when she intervened and tried in vain to prevent the woman from escaping with the boy.
